Opentop is your gateway to participating in the Ports 4.0 Pre-Commercial Open Call, a program designed to fund and validate cutting-edge solutions for the port and logistics ecosystem. Whether you’re refining an idea or ready to test your innovation, Opentop provides the tools and guidance to help you submit a strong application with the support of the companies and entities working at the ports of Valencia, Sagunto and Gandía, the three ports managed by the Port Authority of Valencia.

This Open Call grants projects with a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of 3 to 6, offering up to €1 million in funding for pre-commercialization projects aimed at transforming logistics efficiency, sustainability, safety, and digitalization, among others. These projects are specifically designed to receive facilitation and/or support from Spanish Port Authorities and/or companies at the Spanish ports, and to be developed or tested at a port. The expected outcome is positive validation in a real environment or achieving level 7 of technology readiness. With Opentop, innovative solutions can be tested and validated in one of the most dynamic and innovative port ecosystems in Europe, Valenciaport.

What is Ports 4.0?

The Ports 4.0 fund is the corporate open innovation model adopted by the Spanish State Port Authorities to attract, support and facilitate the application of talent and entrepreneurship to the Spanish public and private ports sector, within the context of 4th industrial revolution. The main target of the Fund is to actively promote and incorporate disruptive or incremental innovation as a competitiveness, efficiency, sustainability, security and protection element, in the Spanish public and private logistics-ports sector, to facilitate its transition towards economy 4.0. Ports 4,0 will stimulate the creation or consolidation of a fabric of emergent companies (Startups), spin-offs or new business lines, within the technological scope, in existing companies developing innovative market-driven products, services or processes for the ports logistics sector.
