08/10/2024. Synnect, was the technology company selected to meet the challenge proposed by the Port Authority of Valencia oriented to the knowledge of the situation of the port police in the Port of Valencia: the case of dangerous goods.

This challenge is being worked on the Business Growth Program in which Synnect participates.

Its RADIANT solution, allows the detection, monitoring and traceability of assets in real time in ports, using only remote camera and LiDAR measurements.

We interviewed the CEO and founder of the company, Beltrán Blázquez Pérez, to learn more about the company and its experience in the Opentop program.

– The challenge proposed by the Port Authority of Valencia is oriented to the knowledge of the situation of the port police in the Port of Valencia: the case of dangerous goods. How does Synnect face this challenge? Is this need scalable to other ports?

Our approach has been based on the awareness that a demanding challenge like this will require the use of different technologies. The solution we have developed has a technological base that is fully applicable to other ports. Although the problem of dangerous goods is not the same in any port, the technology of our project can be applied to other port situations and operations. The advantage of having been able to work on the challenge of the Port Authority of Valencia is that we have been able to propose the solution from a demanding environment in terms of operation and performance. Therefore, we hope that this experience will also help us to scale it to other ports.

– What is the differential value that Synnect offers when it comes to solving this challenge?

Solving a technical challenge like this requires the use of different technologies. The interoperability capabilities of our tool are key to achieve a scalable development, adaptable to the needs and that makes use of data-based technologies for the detection, tracking and traceability of goods.

– What is your assessment of your time with Opentop to date? What services and experiences have you gained the most from it?

It has been a privilege for us to be able to count on the mentors of the program. Their support and work has helped us a lot to focus and improve our operations. Above all, thanks to their experiences they have saved us a lot of learning time or avoided making mistakes. From the beginning the program has been adapted to our situation and needs and the response from both the management team and the mentors has been excellent.

– What would you say to a startup that is thinking of joining the Opentop ecosystem?

Do not hesitate, it is a very good opportunity to work hand in hand with the Port of Valencia, transferring their ideas and technology. And at the same time it is a very agile program that will surely bring them a lot of value.
