Opentop organizes a professional workshop on open innovation in port logistics sector

  • This event, to be held on November 23rd at Innsomnia’s facilities, will bring together managers from the port logistics sector and technology entrepreneurs.
  • With this global program, Fundación Valenciaport seeks to improve competitiveness, logistics and international positioning of port activity through collaboration between startups and large corporations.

     

    17/11/2022. Fundación Valenciaport will hold on November 23 the I Innovation Workshop of its Opentop initiative with the slogan: ‘Boosting the port of the future through open and sustainable innovation’.

    The event, which will take place at the headquarters of the accelerator Innsomnia, will be inaugurated by Rebeca Torró, Regional Minister of Territorial Policy, Public Works and Mobility and Aurelio Martínez, president of the Port Authority of Valencia (APV) and Fundación Valenciaport.

    Then, Antonio Torregrosa, general director of Fundación Valenciaport, will explain, in conversation with Rafael Navarro, co-founder of Innsomnia, the innovation that seeks to implement the Opentop hub in the Port of Valencia. He will also detail the new challenges proposed to startups in the I Acceleration Call, which will be open until December 4.

    Continuing education and sustainability as the cornerstones of change

     

    Among the topics proposed in the various round tables planned for this day, it is worth highlighting the importance of lifelong learning to face new opportunities, as will be presented by M. Esther Gómez Martín, Vice-Rector for Students and Entrepreneurship of the Universitat Politècnica de València and Ana Rumbeu, Director of Training of Training of Fundación Valenciaport.

    Another key debate will address the necessary collaboration between startups and corporations, where Inés Oliveira, director of Telefónica Open Future; Salvador Furió, director of Innovation and Port Cluster Development of of Fundación Valenciaport; Nagore Ardanza, director of Bilbao Portlab and José Llorca, head of Innovation of the Spanish State Port Authority, will discuss in depth each of the benefits provided by this type of synergies with concrete examples.

    The sustainability block will feature the testimonies of Marc Masmiquel, CEO of We Are Lab; Federico Torres, director of the Energy Transition Area of the Port Authority of Valencia; Beatriz Camacho Ecosystem Manager for Southern Europe RIS and Guillermo Mas, director of Innovation at Veolia Spain.

    The last of the roundtables will focus on disruption, innovation and talent in ports. Participants will include Adriaan Landman, COO of Allread; Hugo Mira, CEO of Mojito 360; Nuria Lloret, Advisor Metric Salad; Beatriz Turumbay, Project Manager Code Contract and Gabriel Ferrús, CEO of SEAPort Solutions.

    The general framework of the 1st Opentop Innovation Workshop will also be used to showcase two sectoral reports related to the transformation of ports into centers of disruptive technologies. This will be defended by Paco Bree, CEO of Inndux, during the presentation of the report “’Trends in the port logistics sector” prepared by Inndux and Fundación Valenciaport. Another of the outstanding interventions will be that of Cristián Ull, co-founder of Area101 and author of the report ‘101 innovation stories‘.

    The cooperation between public and private entities, central theme of the conference of Andrés García Reche, executive vice president of the Valencian Agency for Innovation (AVI) and the final speech of Juan Manuel Díez, head of Strategic Planning and Innovation of the Port Authority of Valencia, will end a day full of initiatives and talent to address the challenges of the future.
